Following the outline below, individuals will be given 2 minutes to introduce themselves:
• Name
• First Time Attendee
• Area of expertise/industry
• Target Position and Industry (i.e. I am looking for a Vice President of Finance position in a hi-tech firm) S to 5 keywords
• What can you bring to the group?
• What do you want to receive from the group?
• Name and phone number/email
Individuals bring information about bona fide job leads. A bona fide job lead is one in which you have personal knowledge a “real” job exists and you personally have a contact at the place of employment. We will also share job leads produced by the research group within the ministry.
I KNOW that I am qualified. I HAVE the experience needed by top companies within and outside of my industry. I AM committed to putting forth the effort necessary to find a challenging job. I KNOW opportunities exist. I WILL find a fUlfilling, monetarily rewarding position that will allow me to maintain balance in my life. I do NOT have to compromise. I WILL SUCCEED in finding a company, position, and work environment that meets my goals. I WILL NOT be denied!

JOB NETWORKING CHECKLIST FOR NEW JOB SEEKERS
- www.godel.com, job aides, at the opening screen click on job aides on the right. You will see a calendar for this month and next for all job networking and jaws groups in all metro Atlanta. There is a link to the yahoo groups for joining.
- Business cards, - a must. Design your own or order from www.vistaprint.com.
- Yahoo groups , join one or more to advertise yourselt request contacts in your focus companies and job leads. Some of the metro Atlanta groups are: Job Seekers Perimeter, Job Seekers Cobb, RUMC Jobnet, Career Mavens, Cobb Works.
- Randal Kirkpatrick List — send an e-mail to rkirkya2@bellsouth.net and ask to be added to his list. Randal sends out job leads and knows all goings on in metro Atlanta. Mention my name and Transfiguration Job Networking.
- Other Job Networking Groups — attend as many as possible, like one or two a day. Pick the one or ones you like best and attend them regularly.
- Career Quest: A series of facilitator led workshops designed to provide job seekers with the basic tools to locate jobs and have a heads up when applying for jobs. In the Religions Ed Rooms. - Job Networking: A resource for job seekers and career changers who want to talk to others in the same situation. - RUMC Counseling Center: Career assessments and counseling for adolescents and adults, offered at the Roswell United Methodist Counseling Center 814 Mimosa Blvd. Roswell, Sliding scale available. For appointment information, call 770-998-0424.
- Professional Groups/Associations — attend as many as possible with employed people for great networking. The working people will know of new jobs first.
- www.littonaroup.com - this Jay Litton ‘s company webb site. Go there and sign up for his every two-week e-zine. Jay heads up the Jobnet Ministry at RUMC. They meet every 2nd and 4th Monday 7:30 PM each month. Jay is also the author and owner of the WOW interviewing technique for job seekers.
- AJC Sunday Job Networking List — every Sunday page 2 of the Jobs Section.
- www.techlinks.net - check it out and sign up for their newsletters on what is happening in Atlanta, business and meeting wise for companies and organizations.
