Only one Industry Guide per person per meeting.

2. If a name is already taken, please choose someone else. This is about networking so consider selecting someone that has many contacts like commercial real estate agents.

3. Introduce yourself via e-mail with Transfiguration CareerCare Ministry Industry Guide as your subject header. If calling mention you selected their name from the Transfiguration CareerCare Ministry Industry Guide.

4. Have a goal for your conversation. Be specific. This is more than just whom they know. Ask about:

• Networking groups you should attend.
• Companies that are hiring they know about.
• Contacts they think may help you.
• Anyone else in his or her company that could help you.
• Events or trade shows you may attend.
• Trade publications that could help.
• Mutual friends that they may have in common with you.

5. 15 minutes. I have asked the volunteers to give you 15 minutes of time. If it goes over tat please ask if they have a few more minutes. Some Industry Guides may not know exactly how to help you unless you are specific. Remember, even if they don’t know how to help you this is about networking —not just getting job leads. Also, be aware that they may be resistant to giving out all their contacts every time so think of alternative objectives of the call so you can benefit.

6. Give it 10 days. Many of our volunteers travel, take vacations and doing the work of two people. Our recommendations is to contact them once every 3-4 days with an alternative form of communication. For example, tomorrow leave a voice mail. Day 4 leave an e-mail and so forth.
7. After 10 days and no reply. Please let me know at mike@lang.net or John Berry at jaberry@bellsouth.net. It is important that we only provide you with active and able Transfiguration CareerCare Ministry Industry Guide volunteers.

Networking Meeting Agenda & Guides

Networking Meeting Agenda

WELCOME This group is a forum for those in career transition to share leads, information, successes, and support others in their search.

INDIVIDUAL INTRODUCTIONS

Following the outline below, individuals will be given 2 minutes to introduce themselves:

• Name
• First Time Attendee
• Area of expertise/industry
• Target Position and Industry (i.e. I am looking for a Vice President of Finance position in a hi-tech firm) S to 5 keywords
• What can you bring to the group?
• What do you want to receive from the group?
• Name and phone number/email

SPECIFIC JOB LEADS

Individuals bring information about bona fide job leads. I have a gift to find niches where others fail to see opportunity.

Four out of the six job titles I received at my last company were created for my unique talents and abilities. Once I refused extra compensation during a title upgrade because it wasn’t necessary to achieve the goals I was after, which totally shocked our VP of Human Resources. Lastly, I was one of the last five executives left standing after 9/11 and before the liquidation began due to a $80 million bond payment issue of my legendary, +50 year old company and its related assets of over $200 million in November-December 2001.

It is very likely that I can help you grow or recover your business in a short period of time. The wide scope of specialties and my unique experience I can bring to the table has allowed advances in the decision making process by providing vital Strategic Planning, Automation, & Decision Support to Senior Management.

I have worked side by side with Bondholders and Senior & Mid-Level Management in Sales, in Operations, and in Finance while working for multiple Chairmen & CEOs during the last three years of relentless turnaround attempts of trying to save my company from financial ruin.

We may not have succeeded in the end, but we gave it all we had – even all the way inside the beltway to the White House during the 9/11 period. And furthermore, I believe our relentless efforts allow our company to weather the downturn for an additional (3) year period. I strongly believe with all conviction, had it not been for the 9/11 terrorist attack, you would not be reading this cover letter and we would have successfully sold the company to an investor.

Websites

Portfolio - http://myport.blogspot.com.

Company http://trism.blogspot.com.

Humor - http://nowheremann.blogspot.com.
